What Is Delta-8 THC?
Everyone in the cannabis community is “buzzing” about something new. It’s not the latest innovation in terpenes or flavonoids or the newest strain of whole flower CBD. No, today, everyone who is anyone is talking about Delta-8 THC, the all-new, novel cannabinoid with a psychotropic high that’s completely and totally legal.
That’s right — legal!
Delta-8 may not be as famous is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, and you may not know as much about it as you do CBD (especially after reading through our CBD University), but it has something that no other cannabinoid has — buzz!
So, what is Delta-8 THC? Why is everyone in the CBD community so excited about this novel cannabinoid? And why has Diamond CBD expanded its lineup of Delta-8 products?
Did you know? Delta-8 THC is the only cannabinoid with a psychotropic high that’s completely and totally legal?
Let’s start at the beginning. There are four major cannabinoids out of almost 100 found in the hemp plant, including THC, CBD, cannabinol, and yes, Delta-8. But like we said, there are over 100 in total. Sure, it is a minor cannabinoid, found in minimal concentrations within the hemp plant, but it packs a big punch.
At CBD Mall, our skilled breeders have found a way to cultivate and produce this compound in mass quantities so you can enjoy what is quickly becoming the best buzz in town.
Delta-8 is an analog of THC and shares similar psychotropic properties with its more famous cousin. However, unlike marijuana, Delta-8 is 100 percent legal. Which means you can purchase it without worry and enjoy it with some peace of mind.
An Overview of Delta-8 THC
Delta-8 is one of our most popular products and continues to grow in popularity every day. Here at CBD Mall we’ve combined Delta-8 with CBD to develop a slew of new products. That’s right, today we offer a whole lineup of Delta-8 products including:
- Delta-8 Gummies
- Delta-8 Vapes
- Delta-8 Oils
- Delta-8 Capsules
- Delta-8 Syringes
- and more!
Which leaves us with the question, what is Delta-8? What do we know about this fantastic new cannabinoid?
For starters, we know that Delta-8 is legal. While it does fall into a bit of a gray area, once you understand the specifics, everything becomes quite clear. To explain:
- Wherever cannabis is legal, Delta-8 THC from cannabis is legal.
- At the federal level, Delta-8 THC from cannabis is illegal.
- When extracted from hemp, Delta-8 THC with less than 0.3 percent THC is legal.
Now, the DEA could change its mind at any time, which is why we recommend picking up some Delta-8 as soon as possible. But, for now, hemp-derived Delta-8 THC is completely legal.
What else do we know about Delta-8?
It’s a minor cannabinoid
Delta-8 is actually a debased form of THC. As we noted in our Delta-8 guide recently, that means that, in scientific terms, “Delta-8 is not produced by cannabinoid-synthesizing enzymes. Instead, Delta-8 develops when THC, which is stored in the cannabis plant, degrades over time. After a period that THC becomes Delta-8.”
Delta-8 creates a psychotropic high
While it has a number of amazing benefits, some similar to CBD, the real reason people are flocking to this compound is for the high. Delta-8’s exceptional properties pale in comparison to the real story, which is the fact that you can invite over a group of friends and really chill out. But how does it work? It’s very similar, but not the same as Delta-9 THC.
Because of this, Delta-8 is more subtle in its high. They say that the compound binds differently to CB1 receptors, making it an entirely new experience.
